My Companies
Since 2001 (and before, just not successfully), I have been fascinated with owning
and operating my own business. Something about it, whether it was the sense of being
able to make all the money you bring in, or whether it was a way of giving a logical
use for my countless hours spent on my computers.
I’d like to think the majority of it is my ambition and the passion for perfection
and success. Obviously, at 14 years old I wasn’t able to get a job at Starbucks
or with Geek Squad; however, I could work for myself…for more.
I’ve always had the “get it done, now” attitude. When I see an opportunity, I feel
the need assess the potential of that opportunity. Some opportunities are just too
big for a college student to handle, the others I found to be “do-able”; this leads
us to the companies I currently own (at least partially).
Pointblanc
Organization Overview | 2001-Present
Pointblanc offers a wide array of services for its clients, from office virtualization
and IT support to web development. In addition to the technical side of IT, Pointblanc
offers services that include marketing research and advertising/branding/marketing
consulting from an IT perspective. Above all, Pointblanc strives to be efficient
and effective at solving problems and providing a solution that everybody can understand,
not just geeks.
CEO & Founder | 2001-Present
Founded in 2001, I am responsible for all primary operations and hire contract labor
on a project-to-project basis. I recruit and maintain clients, develop web sites,
provide IT support (remote and on-site), maintain web and SQL servers, DNS and VPN
systems. As marketing became more of a focus of mine I adapted that into Pointblanc
by starting to offer marketing services that include Internet marketing, advanced
statistics for marketing research, creative work, and marketing plans in collaboration
with other marketing professionals.

DoorQ Entertainment, LLC.
Organization Overview | 2007-Present
DoorQ Entertainment is the brain child and dream of Jody Wheeler (one of my business
partners). While scifi is not a passion of mine, the platform and the opportunity
to market a new business was irresistible. I had the experience and the software
solution (Ausjam) to get DoorQ launched. DoorQ is a gay science fiction production
company, there is a huge market in the gay/lesbian/fan girl markets for this sort
of media. DoorQ has evolved to encompass all the rest of the gay community. By the
end of the first year, DoorQ was breaking even and at the very least paying for
itself.
Partner & Founder | 2007-Present
I manage all IT operations, a large portion of marketing and creative, as
well as strategy and programming of new features to the web site.

Ausjam
Organization Overview | 2006-2008
Ausjam started out as a ridiculously ambitious plan by a close friend who was helping
me develop applications at the time. We set out to design what (at the time) was
a merge of MySpace and Facebook. We still think we were quite successful and the
framework is still in use to this day on other sites, like DoorQ.com (mentioned
above). We launched Ausjam with a website (whytheysuck.com) finding out what people
thought about Facebook and MySpace and what they could do better. After five months
of development, we released our first copy of Ausjam, and continued to develop on
it for another year and a half. Pointblanc supported Ausjam by sponsoring hosting
and other services.
